The McCain camp recently released this ad online. Funny and true, although I'm not too sure how the ad actually helps McCain. Chris Matthews is a tool. I wish Obama would admit that the surge did some good.

As someone who generally likes McCain, I find that ad kind of pathetic. The only thing it really attacks is the media. What an old trope. And a few of those clips are obviously not pertinent, or loaded -- three anchors just saying Obama's name, for instance. Oooh!! And asking Terry McAuliffe and Ed Rendell, two of the biggest Hillary hacks, if the media is biased in favor of Obama? Hmm, wonder what they'll say.
Don't get me wrong -- it's clever as far as it goes. But it doesn't go very far. McCain needs to find a strategy between now and the fall.
Three anchors, one for each of the major networks, who followed Obama around on his little Middle East field trip. Whereas McCain has made several trips over there without so much hoopla. It is easy to dismiss it as "old trope" when most of the fawning is going your guy's way.
But I agree, it doesn't go too far. McCain needs to continue to work his clear advantage on foreign policy, but at the same time, he's got to find some sort of domestic message that hits home.
Funny video. I agree it doesn't help McCain, though.
Obama's overseas trip has been very well orchestrated. He gets a lot of press because a lot of people want to hear what he says. In my view, this trip is much more newsworthy than McCain's trips. Here is the Democratic nominee going to Iraq and many other places for the first time as the nominee.
McCain's campaign helped make this big news, as well. They've criticized him for not going in the past. This is supposed to be his weakness. Of course, people want to see what he says and does over there. Many people are also looking for him to screw up. I think the McCain campaign was counting on it. Either way it is news.
